Scooter Accessories: Personalized and Modified

Admin | on September 08, 2011

Personal mobilization products like rollators and scooters are two of the many innovations created out of the ordinary wheelchair. Though electrically operated wheelchairs are now manufactured, the conventional look still remains to connote a stigma of disability every time you see one. These scooters have a different look. Yet, it serves the purpose of assisting a person with disability, who can’t move places with the use of his or her own feet due to some accident or disorder.

But more than the innovation of a personal mobilization product, it is made for its main purpose of helping someone to be independent. Because of scooter accessories, electric wheelchairs are becoming more of a personalized possession. For example, the tank holders, cane holders, folding basket rears, front baskets and view mirrors, headlights and the like.

The accessories also give added comfort such as arm pads and cushions, which are slid into existing seat covers and prevents skin breakdown. Aside from that, accessories also bring convenience with gadgets for easy lift of a person from a scooter on ground to a vehicle. Seat belts are also available to ensure safety as an added accessory.

You can also purchase some replacement parts at www.wheelchairsabound.com, which are deemed essential for its main functions like the battery, tires and wheels. Batteries can be replaced once in a while. It depends on the quality of the purchased products. A higher price is not a guarantee that the products are long lasting.

Tires and wheels on the other hand should be replaced when it has deteriorated. Buying some extra set of wheels and tires in advance would be an advantage, too. When these products cannot serve its purpose anymore, you can replace it immediately. In this way, you can avoid the hassle of looking for some scooter accessories in your local market, which could be very time-consuming.

Catch The Cane!

Rollator | on October 05, 2010

Cane HolderHow many times have you been sitting in a quite place with your cane and discretely tried to lean your cane against another chair, a pew or a corner? I’ll bet nine times out of ten, before you left your cane has somehow ended up clanking to the floor. They never fall quietly. The noise usually draws unwanted attention. Human nature will cause others’ to look. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a simple gadget to hold your cane so it cannot be kicked over or bumped off where you balanced it? For sure you know there must be something out there to solve this little problem. I found a nice variety of cane and crutch holders on the web. Take a look.
